An honest comparison
Trainzo vs Hevy Coach.
We make Trainzo, so read this page with that in mind. Our rules: where Hevy Coach is better, we say so first and plainly. Their numbers carry the date we checked them. And if this page shows you Hevy Coach suits your business better, it has done its job.
Trainzo is new. The coach dashboard and the client app for iPhone and Android are live, and any coach can sign up. It is a young product from a small team — if that is too early for your business, that is a fair reason to choose a more established one, and the comparison below is still worth five minutes.
The short version
Hevy Coach is the coaching side of Hevy, a workout logger used by millions. Your clients train in the Hevy app and get Hevy Pro free while you coach them.
It is simple and strong on the workout: eight tracking types, effort (RPE) on every set, supersets, and teams at no extra cost. It costs US$25 a month for up to ten clients after a 30-day trial. There is no free plan.
Trainzo does more around the workout — habits, goals, check-ins, broadcasts and automations — with a free plan for three clients and lower prices past ten. If the workout log is all you need and your clients already use Hevy, Hevy Coach is a very good choice.

Where Hevy Coach wins
- Your clients may already use it. Hevy is a popular workout app with a social feed, and coached clients get Hevy Pro free — nothing new for them to learn.
- Deeper set logging. Eight tracking types, including assisted and weighted bodyweight work, and RPE on every set. Trainzo has seven types and no RPE logging yet.
- Cheaper from six to ten clients. US$25 covers up to ten; on Trainzo six to ten clients is US$29.
- Teams today, at no extra cost. Trainzo’s team seats are not live yet.
- If you coach the workout and nothing else, and your clients love Hevy, choose Hevy Coach. Genuinely.
Where Trainzo wins
- A free plan. Three clients, no card, no expiry. Hevy Coach has a trial, then US$25 a month.
- More than the workout. Habits, goals, check-ins with your own questions, broadcasts and automations — none of which we found listed for Hevy Coach.
- Cheaper as you grow: US$29 against US$50 for 15 clients, US$49 against US$90 for 30.
- Richer messages: photos, video, voice notes and files in each client’s thread.
- One person, one account. A coach can train under another coach, and a client can have a strength coach and a physio at once, each kept apart, on one login.
- Health data from Apple Health and Health Connect, shared coach by coach, filling habits like steps by themselves.
- A bigger library: 2,004 movements and 25 programmes, on every plan, the free one too.
One login, whatever your role
On Trainzo an account is a person, not a role. The same person can coach a roster, be a client of one coach, be a client of three coaches, or all of it at once: one email, one login, and each coaching relationship kept private from the others.
Here is what that means in practice. Say you coach twenty clients and you also train with a powerlifting coach. On some platforms that means two accounts and a second email address. On Trainzo it is one login with two sides. Your coach never sees your clients, and your clients never see your coach.
Want to see it for real?
Your first 3 clients are free, with no card and no expiry. Every new account gets every feature for its first 30 days.
