Trainzo vs TrueCoach.
Comparison pages written by one of the two products deserve suspicion, so the ground rules here are strict: where TrueCoach is better, this page says so first and plainly; their numbers carry the date we checked them; and if this page helps you conclude TrueCoach is the right choice for your practice, it has done its job.
Trainzo is in early access: the coach dashboard is live, the client app is rolling out, and we are letting coaches in a few at a time. If that stage is too early for your business, that is a fair reason to choose the incumbent — and the comparison below is still worth five minutes.
The short version
TrueCoach is a polished, well-loved incumbent, particularly among strength coaches — mature, reliable, and backed by a large company.
It has no free tier: plans start at roughly US$30 a month for five clients, with a trial rather than a free way to run a small practice.
Trainzo is younger and narrower, free for your first three clients, priced by roster alone with every feature on every plan — and it is the only one of the two where a client can train under more than one coach on a single account.

Where TrueCoach wins
- Getting paid. Client payments are built into TrueCoach today; Trainzo does not have them yet.
- Maturity and support. Years of production hardening and a real support organisation behind it.
- A 90-day money-back guarantee on first annual plans — a confident, coach-friendly policy worth crediting.
- Coaching yourself. TrueCoach has shipped a dual-client setup for years, so a coach who also trains needs no second account. We used to imply otherwise on this page; that was wrong, and it is corrected here.
- If your practice depends on collecting payment through the platform this month, TrueCoach is the safer choice. Genuinely.
Where Trainzo wins
- A real free tier. TrueCoach starts at ~US$30/month after the trial; Trainzo lets a coach run their first three clients free, indefinitely, no card.
- Several coaches at once. TrueCoach lets one email coach and train, which is fair to credit — but one email is still one client account, so it cannot hold a second coach. On Trainzo a strength coach, a physio and a nutritionist can each hold the same person, and none of them can see the others.
- Every feature on every plan. No tier chart to study; the plans differ by roster size and nothing else.
- The library: 2,004 movements and 25 programs built from the strength-and-conditioning literature, included even on the free tier.
The identity difference, since no price list mentions it
Every platform in this comparison stores people. Trainzo is the only one that treats identity and role as different things: an account is a person, and a person can be a coach with a roster, a client of one coach, a client of three coaches, or all of it at once — one email, one login, each relationship sealed from the others.
It sounds abstract until it is your Tuesday: you coach twenty clients and you also train under a powerlifting coach. Elsewhere that is two accounts and a second email address. On Trainzo it is the same login wearing two hats — and your coach never sees your roster, and your clients never see your coach.
